Bre Hurd, a Class of 2024 girls' basketball standout at Waynesville, has committed to former Missouri State Lady Bears coach Amaka Agugua-Hamilton at the University of Virginia.
Hurd was recruited by "Coach Mox" when she was the head coach of the Lady Bears. Agugua-Hamilton was among the first to extend an offer to the 6-foot-2 forward. Hurd also held an offer from Mizzou.
Hurd is coming off a sophomore season in which she averaged 22.1 points, 10.2 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game. She was a Class 6 all-state selection.
At one point, Hurd was considered one of the top high school prospects in the 2024 class with a five-star rating.
