Walleye a pleasure to fish for and eat

Each year, the popularity of fishing for walleye is growing. It's easy to see why. The pleasure of the chase and the delicious reward of a walleye dinner are enough to keep anglers going after them.

My son Brad and I headed for the Lake of the Woods near Baudette, Minnesota, a place that is called “The Walleye Capital of the World.” After three days fishing for these popular fish, we could see why.

We fished with top-notch guide Bob Busick, who works out of Sportsman’s Lodge, a popular vacation spot in the North Country. Owner Gregg Hennum told us that January is their busiest month of the year because of ice fishermen who set up their ice houses on the lake, making it look like a small city.
