Missouri State women's soccer opened the 2017 season at home with a heartbreaking loss to Arkansas State on Aug. 18 in a contest in which they led 20 of the last 35 minutes.

“Well, we let one get away,” Bears head coach Rob Brewer said.

The Bears and Red Wolves went back and forth in the first half with no score, as both teams attempted six shots. However, the Bears looked to have control of the contest.

“We felt like we had advantage in the wide channels,” Brewer said.

That showed when Bears junior Brooke Prondzinski scored with 35 minutes to play off a rebound from an Arkansas State defender.
