One of the top 15 college basketball recruits in the nation came to Springfield, and then he put on an awe-inspiring performance.
Trae Young scored 52 points in a record-setting 110-96 win for Norman North (Norman, Oklahoma) over Glendale in the Ozark Mountain Shootout late Friday night at Falcon Court. The high score sets a record for the most combined points scored at 206 in a basketball game involving a Springfield Public Schools team.
“The main thing I wanted to happen was to get a win, and I’m very happy. I’m very blessed,” Young said. “We did something special here and we made history, but at the end of the day we got a win, so that’s all that matters.
