Just a freshman, Glendale’s Reid Jarvis is two victories away from a state tennis championship.
Jarvis won two matches Friday at Cooper Tennis Complex to advance to the Class 2 semifinals at the 88th Missouri State High School Activities Association Boys Tennis Championships.
“I’m excited that I’ve made it this far, but there’s still work to be done,” Jarvis said after his quarterfinal win over Blaise Fagan of Kirkwood.
Jarvis beat Fagan 6-4, 7-6 and needed to win a tiebreaker 8-6 to claim the second set and end the match.
“I was feeling the nerves, but I was able to get through it OK.
