The shortest QB in Springfield is hoping for a big season at Parkview

It has long been said that height is an advantage when playing quarterback.

Not only are taller quarterbacks able to see over their linemen, but a 2016 study from Ohio State University also found that taller people are better at identifying the location of targets from 3 to 22 yards away — making them more equipped to throw accurate passes.

Mario Sanchez isn't buying it.

Sanchez, a senior at Parkview High School, was the shortest starting quarterback in the Ozark Conference — and possibly the state — last year.

He said being 5-foot-3 is no disadvantage.
