The 2016 season is only two games old, but it seems an appropriate time to delve into the history books for the Missouri State football program.
The Bears are 2-0, following a no-doubt-about-it victory over NAIA Southwestern College in the opener, followed by a game in which they had to battle every last second to claim a 28-22 win at Murray State on Saturday night.
Just as the opening victory wasn’t enough to start making plans for the playoffs — Bears coach Dave Steckel said on the Missouri Valley Football Conference coaches’ teleconference that it was like a preseason victory — the win over the Racers shouldn’t lead fans to go overboard, either.
