Take a tour of three landscapes and see how native plants are incorporated into the design

With only small chances for rain, there's an opportunity to check out three native landscapes this weekend in Springfield.

The Grow Native! program is working with the Missouri Department of Conservation to have self-guided tours free to the public at a few of the professionally designed and native landscapes from 2-5 p.m. June 12 in Springfield.

“Once you walk those grounds, you will never think of corporate landscaping in the same way again,” said Ronda Burnett, event organizer, via a news release.

The socially distanced event is to allow folks to explore the grounds of the following locations:

  • Government Plaza, at 840 Boonville Avenue, establishes use of native plants in landscaping at a municipal property.
