The Strafford Lady Indians, holders of the state's record for consecutive wins, saw that streak end Friday night at the hands of Republic in the Pink and White Tournament.

Coming into Friday's quarterfinal game, Strafford had won a state-record 123 consecutive games, including the last four state titles.

Republic held on for a 43-42 win and a spot in the tournament's semifinal.

Last season's perfect run ended with the graduation of sisters Hayley and Kayley Frank and the retirement of their dad and coach, Steve Frank.
