Missouri State will be Bearing Up for at least two more years.
On Tuesday afternoon, Missouri State University announced a contract extension for head football coach, Dave Steckel.
Steckel, who is entering his third season with the Bears, became the 20th head coach in MSU history in 2014. During his first two seasons, Steckel has a record of 5-17.
Steckel’s original contract was set to finish after the 2020 season, but under the new terms, he will remain the head coach until Jan. 31, 2022.
“Stec is a positive fixture within our community and has demonstrated the qualities we are looking for to improve our team on and off the field,” said MSU Director of Athletics Kyle Moats in a press release.
