Perhaps it's the salsa but it appears the St. Louis Cardinals are hoping the team's recent success is due to its interim manager.
Former Springfield Cardinals manager Mike Shildt's interim tag has been removed by the St. Louis big-league team.
"Interim no more!" the Cardinals tweeted Tuesday afternoon.
Shildt replaced Mike Matheny when the Cardinals announced Matheny was fired on July 14. Since then, the Cardinals are 26-12 and are 4.5 games behind the Chicago Cubs in the NL Central.
