Springfield sports radio host 'suspended indefinitely.' Sources say he won't return to air.

A local sports radio host who came under fire for making offensive comments Friday about vice-presidential candidate Kamala Harris has been "suspended indefinitely with no return date established."

Nate Lucas, who hosted "The Nate Lucas Show" on Springfield's Jock radio stations was initially suspended for this week after using an offensive sexist slur to describe Harris over the air.

Jeff Allen, the Zimmer Communications Corporate Operations Director, confirmed Lucas' "indefinite suspension" to the News-Leader on Wednesday evening. He would not comment further, citing a "personnel issue."

Multiple sources told the News-Leader that if the suspension were to be lifted, Lucas would not return to the air.
