The fish were biting at Pomme de Terre lake Friday, and Zach Reynolds has a bloody foot to prove it.
Reynolds was prefishing the Mo-Yak Tournament Series ahead of the weekend competition event when he hooked a bass about 30 yards from shore.
"It was so hot, it was burning the tops of my feet so I had them in the water as I was reeling in that bass," Reynolds, 28, recalled. "I was still reeling when something hit the top of my left foot. I pulled my foot up and there was blood all over it.
