Missouri State softball takes to the field as they open the 2017 season on the road, by competing in the Louisiana Tech Invitational. The Bears faced five teams and finished with a 2-3 record.
Game 1: Arkansas-Pine Bluff
For the first game of the 2017 season, the Missouri State bats shined as the Bears run-ruled Arkansas-Pine Bluff in an 8-0 five-inning shutout. Bears’ junior pitcher Kaitlin Beason earned her first win of the season tossing a one-hit shutout. Five of the runs that the Bears scored in the bottom of the first came with two outs in the inning.
