On May 3, the Bears lost 5-4 to Wichita State. WSU scored in the first inning and then added two runs in the second to put them on top by three.
Sophomore pitcher Kaitlin Beason held the Shockers scoreless for four innings and stranded 11 players on base but it wasn’t enough to win the game.
However, MSU rallied in the sixth inning to eventually take the lead over the number one team in the MVC. The rally started with a single by junior right fielder Olivia Roark. After an error by WSU, she advanced to second.
