In his first season with the Missouri State Bears, Reggie Scurry got his first taste of Missouri Valley Conference Basketball on Friday night. And the Valley got its first taste of Scurry.
The junior transfer scored 18 points off the bench and sparked the Bears to a 64-59 victory over Loyola-Chicago (10-3, 0-1 MVC) at JQH Arena.
“It was everything that they told me it was going to be,” Scurry said of the atmosphere. “The energy, the excitement. I haven’t experienced anything like that in my life.”
Scurry helped to put the exclamation point on a night that saw Missouri State (11-3, 1-0) blow two 10-point leads in the first before holding off the Ramblers.
