Austin Ruder can’t even point back to when, where or even how it happened.
The Missouri State junior basketball player thinks it was sometime during the 2014-15 season, and he guesses it was an innocent play that happens dozens of times in every game.
Maybe when he was getting bumped while coming off a screen, and his body just got turned the wrong way.
There’s nothing innocent about the result, though.
First came a surgery to fix a sports hernia, when doctors also “released” his hip abductor muscles to give him more flexibility.
That was in September of 2015.
