The underdog Cobras stole their baseball league’s first ever championship series.
They are snakes, after all.
The Cobras defeated the favored Wild 11-7 Saturday night to win the first Show-Me Collegiate Baseball League championship series two games to none. They couldn't decide whether to celebrate with a dogpile or an ice bath, so they did both.
Rogersville native Ethan Schlesener capped off a tremendous summer in the amateur league with three hits, a run scored and five RBIs in five at bats.
“It’s been a fun summer, and I wouldn’t want to win with anybody else,” Schlesener said.
