Pock scores 30, but Bolivar falls in Class 5 final

Cardinal Ritter kept Bolivar at bay in a variety of ways Friday in the boys basketball championship of Class 5 in the Show-Me-Showdown.

Stopping Kyle Pock was not one of those ways: the 6-foot-6 sophomore scored 30 points and totaled 12 rebounds, five assists, four blocks and two steals.

His heroics, though, weren’t enough to stop the historically strong Ritter team that turned back every Bolivar challenge.

The Lions triumphed 66-56 at JQH Arena — and the Liberators fought to the last second.

"They beat us. We didn’t lose it,” said Boliver coach Robby Hoegh.
