Chuck Hepola’s wait to become a head coach is finally over.
After serving as an assistant coach on several levels for the last 24 seasons, the 47-year-old isn’t letting up on the gas anytime soon.
That was evident on Friday afternoon, when players were arriving and checking in for fall camp, and Hepola was talking as much about his expectations for this season as he was about the excitement level of running his own program.
“We have a little saying that, ‘Perfection is our goal, but excellence will be tolerated,’ ” Hepola said.
“Our intention is to win every game.
