Ozark High taking team to compete in archery tournament for first time

After a few years of talking about having a competitive archery team, the Ozark School District is taking action.

About 30 Ozark High School students will participate in an upcoming competition with National Archery in the Schools Program. The event is slated for Jan. 16 in Billings.

The school has used curriculum from the archery program for years, but it wasn’t until this school year that this extracurricular activity formed, spearheaded by Coach Travis Phipps.

Coach Nathan Harmon said the students drove this decision.

“Archery is a pretty big hobby around here for Coach Phipps and myself,” Harmon said in a phone interview Monday.
