Before the Lady Bears took the court on Friday night, first-year head coach Amaka Agugua-Hamilton told her team to go out and make a statement.
They were playing a team who was undefeated in the Missouri Valley Conference and a win would move the Lady Bears back into a tie atop the league.
Agugua-Hamilton also told her team to use the "Mamba Mentality" in the way they do it.
“Mamba Mentality” is the term Kobe Bryant used to describe the level of intense focus and relentless approach he took both in preparation and competition.
