After Ramone Green displayed so much promise during his sophomore year, the Nixa running back went down with a broken collarbone in the second game of his junior year.
When he closes his eyes, he can still remember the play.
Throughout the next year, Green felt like people on the outside were either discounting his ability or forgetting about him altogether. Entering his senior season, Green wanted to remind everyone why he was the area's best.
And he did so. We're proud to announce that Green has been named the Springfield News-Leader's 2022 high school football player of the year.
