New Mexico State tailback Naveon Mitchell transferring to Missouri State football

Missouri State is adding a running back transfer from an FBS program with big-play potential.

Former New Mexico State tailback Naveon Mitchell announced on Twitter that he is transferring to play football in Springfield.

Mitchell is a 5-foot-10, 175-pound running back who didn't play during the 2020 season. He entered the transfer portal in December and will have three years of immediate eligibility.

The Richmond, Texas, native last saw action as a redshirt freshman in 2019. He played in eight games and made three starts while finishing the season catching 18 passes for 274 yards (15.
