NEW YORK — Six years ago this week, the St. Louis Cardinals signed Luke Voit out of Missouri State.
They spent a 22nd round pick on Voit, the 665th player chosen in the 2013 draft.
It’s been nearly 11 months since the Yankees acquired Voit from the Cardinals, where he was toiling in the system at Class AAA Memphis.
Voit wasn’t an instant success with the Yankees.
He was sent down to the minors and brought back on Aug. 21, when the parade of walks and hits and homers began.
By now, we’re beyond the “Is Luke a fluke?
