MSU's Kalnins prepares for Rio Olympics

Uvis Kalnins prepares to dive into the pool while training for the 2016 Rio Olympics.

Come August, the now MSU alumni will once again be representing Latvia but will now be representing Missouri State as well.

“It’s really exciting,” Kalnins said. “It’s even more exciting than my first Olympic games because now I have set goals and higher expectations of myself. It’s another opportunity to represent my school and my country.”

Kalnins competed in the 2012 Olympics four years ago in London. Kalnins finished 30th in the Men’s 100 metres freestyle event when he was just 18 years old.
