MSU spring game more than just a glorified scrimmage

Saturday marks the final time the Missouri State football team will be on public display before this fall, and there is plenty at stake in the Maroon & White Spring Game at Plaster Stadium.

Second-year coach Dave Steckel often says that every job on the team is up for grabs and nothing is guaranteed.

After four weeks of practices and three scrimmages, there are key positions where nothing has been decided.

That starts at quarterback, where Steckel was hoping one player at the position would step up and grab the starting job.

That hasn’t happened, and senior Brodie Lambert and sophomore Breck Ruddick split snaps evenly in last week’s final scrimmage.
