MSU overcomes ninth-inning drama to advance to second NCAA Tournament elimination game

OXFORD, Mississippi — Missouri State lives to play another game.

Matt Brown hit a walk-off single to give Missouri State a 9-8 win to advance to another elimination game Sunday night.

The Bears will play the loser of Ole Miss and Tennessee Tech’s Sunday afternoon game. The second elimination game of the day is scheduled to follow the winner’s bracket game.

The winner of Sunday night’s elimination game plays the winner of the Ole Miss and Tennessee Tech afternoon game on Monday.

Another slow start put the Bears in an early hole.

MSU starting pitcher Ty Buckner put three of his first four batters on with a walk or by hitting them.
