Reigning Missouri Valley Newcomer of the Year Alize Johnson is being held out of practice with a knee injury.

Johnson has been out for three weeks since injuring his knee during an individual workout, Bears head basketball coach Paul Lusk said at Thursday's media day.

Lusk said the injury is not serious and he is in no rush to bring Johnson back.

"Alize is doing great," Lusk said. "We are being overly cautious with him. We are in no hurry."

Lusk said surgery isn't required.
