MSU football notes: What we learned about Bobby Petrino's Bears after their first practice

The Missouri State football players were sick of all the dang meetings.

For months, since the COVID-19 pandemic sent them home for the spring and most of the summer, all they would do team-wise was have Zoom calls with each other and work out on their own.

But that finally changed on Saturday.

The Bears took to the practice field for the first time under new head coach Bobby Petrino with the hopes of being able to open their season on Aug. 29 against the University of Oklahoma.

Coaches were masked while players wore plastic visors over their facemasks.
