A mountain biker who became separated from his group Monday night was lost for several hours at Sac River mountain bike park north of Springfield — just as a cold front and rain swept the area.
Friends of the missing bicyclist called the Springfield Police Department. Eventually, the Greene County Sheriff's Office, Springfield Fire Department and Willard Fire Department joined Springfield police in the search.
Sac River Mountain Bike Trails is a 300-acre park with dense forest, numerous hills and over 14 miles of interconnecting single-track bike trails adjacent to the Sac River.
