Back in the day, Missouri State coach Keith Guttin had strict rules about beards and hair length.
"But that day's over," he said.
During his 35 years as the head coach of the MSU baseball team, Guttin said his staunch position on hairstyles has receded at about the same rate as his own hairline.
"When I got to the point where I couldn't grow any more hair, I let them grow theirs a little longer," Guttin said. "That was a while ago."
Perhaps no one has taken advantage of Guttin's revised outlook on hairdos like junior pitcher Austin Knight.
