Momentum means much to Christian County rivals, Nixa maintains edge over Ozark

Momentum can mean everything, especially in a rivalry.

Seth Viebrock gave Nixa the momentum it needed to beat rival Ozark 61-58 Tuesday night at Nixa High School. The Eagles have now won 12 consecutive boys basketball games against Ozark, but the Tigers’ momentum suggested the streak was in trouble with Ozark up 35-32 at halftime.

Viebrock, who scored 19 points, said the Eagles took a breath in their locker room.

“We were just like, ‘we’re down by three on our home court against Ozark, that should never happen,’” Viebrock said. “So we recouped, regrouped and came out up, just kind of got hyped.
