In the last few weeks I’ve found myself in a place I’d never thought I’d be again: on the ball field.
I recently started coaching a girl around the age of 10. She plays softball and wanted to learn how to pitch. I pitched for several years and went to a coach myself, so I knew the drills, the warm ups and the repetitions required to improve. She’s had three lessons, and she won’t be done until she’s pitched 50 good ones.
I have also been joining my 11-year-old brother on the field playing first base for him as he practices grounder after grounder, working on his form to eliminate unnecessary errors.
