Missouri's antlerless deer harvest numbers continue to climb, part of 5-year trend

Hunters scored slightly more kills in early December compared to the previous antlerless portion of firearms deer season.

According to Missouri Department of Conservation's preliminary data, hunters harvested 16,032 deer between Dec. 3-11. Top harvest counties were Callaway with 451 deer harvested, Pike with 412 and Macon with 348.

The antlerless-portion harvest total was 15,019 in 2021.

Taking a look at years prior to 2021, the antlerless portion of firearms deer season rendered:

  • 7,773 in 2017
  • 6,645 in 2018
  • 10,597 in 2019
  • 15,620 in 2020
