Missouri State's Davis Schwab picked by Atlanta Braves in 37th round of MLB Draft

Davis Schwab joined a long line of Missouri State pitchers to be selected in the MLB Draft when he was picked on Wednesday.

Schwab, a senior left-handed pitcher, was selected by the Atlanta Braves in the 37th round of the 2019 MLB Draft with the 1,117th overall pick.

Schwab's senior season ended with nine starts in 19 appearances. He had a 6.45 ERA in 60 innings pitched this last season. He made 14 appearances on MSU's NCAA Tournament team in 2018 with a 5.01 ERA in 23.1 innings pitched.

The 6-foot-4, 230-pound hurler was recently praised by D1Baseball and Prep Baseball Report writer David Seifert, who tweeted that Schwab had "funk and deception" and that the Bear could make a club look smart in the later rounds of the draft.
