Missouri State volleyball says former Nixa star Jaycee Fixsen's cancer has returned

Jaycee Fixsen, a former star volleyball player at Nixa High and a current student-athlete at Missouri State, once again has Hodgkin's Lymphoma.

MSU announced the sophomore will miss the 2023 season after cancer returned to her body earlier this year. Fixsen was previously in remission and played in 14 matches with the Bears during her freshman season.

"Many of you know the story of my Hodgkin's lymphoma diagnosis, treatment, and remission last year. What many of you don't know is that the cancer returned to my body earlier this year, and I have spent the spring and summer going through treatments and defeating it once again," Fixsen said in a release.
