Missouri State standout defensive end Isaiah Sayles enters transfer portal

One of Missouri State's standouts along its defensive line has entered the transfer portal just a few weeks before the regular season is set to begin.

Isaiah Sayles, a 6-foot-3, 242-pound defensive end, has departed the Bears' football team after announcing on Monday afternoon that he entered the transfer portal.

Sayles was not present for the Bears' scrimmage on Saturday morning. MSU head coach Bobby Petrino said afterward that Sayles was tending to a family matter.

Sayles confirmed to the News-Leader on Monday that his departure is due to personal family matters that require him to transfer to a school closer to home.
