Keith Pickens is staying home.
Not as in his native St. Louis. But his new home of Springfield and Missouri State University.
Pickens was promoted to a full-time assistant coaching position with the Bears on Thursday, after he spent the last two years as a graduate manager.
“My friends jokingly tell me I’m from Springfield now,” Pickens said. “This is going on year eight for me. It’s a tremendous place for me and my family, and to continue to build here.
My loyalty to the program will continue as it is. I’ll be forever grateful to Missouri State University.
