Missouri State places volleyball coach on administrative leave amid investigation

Missouri State University announced Tuesday that head volleyball coach Melissa Stokes has been placed on paid administrative leave "pending an investigation into allegations involving the program."

The university has not provided further details about the nature of the allegations.

With the season set to begin in about six weeks, associate head coach Manolo Concepción will take over the day-to-day duties of running the program, according to a news release from MSU.

Meanwhile, the university says the law firm of Spencer Fane LLP has been hired to conduct an investigation into the allegations, and no further statements will be issued until after the investigation has been completed and reviewed by the university administration.
