NORMAL, Ill. — Holding off an Illinois State comeback, Mariah White willed the Lady Bears to victory to avenge an early conference-season loss to the first-place Redbirds.
Missouri State (19-5, 10-3) knocked off Missouri Valley Conference Illinois State (15-10, 11-3) with a 75-69 victory on Friday night at Redbird Arena in Normal, Illinois.
The win avenges a 52-51 loss to the Redbirds on Jan. 22. It also keeps the Lady Bears in the MVC championship hunt. Depending on Southern Illinois' result Friday night at Bradley, MSU could be a game behind the Salukis for the MVC lead.
