Missouri State investing less money in men's hoops coaches than most schools in Valley

The Missouri State men's basketball coaching staff appears to be making less money than most of the schools in the Missouri Valley Conference, according to available head coach and assistant coaching salary data.

MSU President Clif Smart said the differential is due to the limited resources across all departments at the university and that the better the men’s basketball team does, the more money it can raise to be used for the program.

“We have a great group of assistants on both the men’s and women’s sides,” Smart said. “Can we be competitive, and can we hire good people?
