Missouri State football coach Bobby Petrino earned an automatic extension and pay raise with playoff berth

Missouri State football coach Bobby Petrino received an automatic one-year extension and a raise because he led the Bears to the playoffs.

According to Petrino's contract, the initial term of the agreement will automatically be extended by one contract year for each season the Bears make the FCS Playoffs.

The playoff appearance also boosts Petrino's salary by $25,000. An achievement clause in his contract says that in any season that the Bears make the FCS Playoffs, Petrino's base salary will be increased by $25,000 per year for the remainder of the initial term and the corresponding automatic one-year renewal.
