In the first conference game of the season, the Missouri State men’s basketball team fell 76-70 to the Southern Illinois Salukis.

This was the Bears’ sixth consecutive road loss, making them winless outside of JQH Arena.

This loss was different, though.

Missouri State competed hard until the final seconds of the game and did so as a cohesive team. The Bears looked as though they worked better together, even though there were new faces out there.

“We’re trying to build a program that wins championships, and resiliency is the number one thing to any champion,” head coach Dana Ford said.
