NORMAL, Ill. — Missouri State is going to need some help if it's going to win its first Missouri Valley Conference title since 2011.

That's because the Bears fell 65-57 to Illinois State at Redbird Arena on Wednesday night.

With the loss, Missouri State is going to need to beat Drake on Saturday and for Loyola to lose one of its next two games in order to finish as co-champions.

Loyola and Drake were still playing their Wednesday night games at the time this story was published. Loyola is at Northern Iowa while Drake is hosting Indiana State.
