Missouri State (16-10, 6-7) snagged a road against Indiana State (11-14, 6-7) on Tuesday, a welcome change from their previous streak of five back-to-back conference losses.
The victory in Terre Haute, Indiana, was the Bears' second win against Indiana State this season, with Alize Johnson leading the team in both games.
The Bears got off to a good start with a 9-0 run at the start of the game, with a three-point shot from Johnson and three field goals from J.T. Miller.
The Sycamores pushed back with field goals by Indiana State’s Brenton Scott, Matt Deady and Qiydar Davis, but the Bears held defense, showing the Sycamores they weren’t going away easily.
