If all things went right for the Bears on Saturday, they could have found themselves in a tie atop a crowded Missouri Valley Conference race at the halfway point.
Instead, the Bears (10-10, 6-4) fell 61-57 to first-place Southern Illinois (16-5, 8-2) on Saturday afternoon at Great Southern Bank Arena. The loss puts the Bears two games behind the league lead and could be as low as in a tie for third by the end of the day's league contests.
