Missouri State basketball adds point guard Lu'Cye Patterson to finalize 2020-21 roster

Missouri State basketball landed the commitment from guard Lu'Cye Patterson on Thursday night.

Patterson is a 6-foot-2 point guard from Minneapolis. He signed a scholarship with the Bears this week and fills the Bears' final roster spot for this upcoming season.

At one point, Patterson held offers from Vanderbilt and Idaho State.

Minnesota 247Sports website Gopher Illustrated wrote last week that "when it comes to strength and skill, Patterson is one of the best at the lead guard spot" and that "his feel for the game is natural."

Patterson is coming off a 25-9 run by Minnesota Prep Academy in 2020 as a part of the Grind Circuit basketball league and was an All-Star and was named the circuit's Offensive Player of the Year.
