Missouri State announced both Ty Buckner and Tyler McAlister have sustained season-ending injuries.
Buckner — who was expected to be the Bears' Friday starter this season — sustained a complete tear of his Achilles tendon in his left leg Tuesday. He is facing an estimated 8-10 months of recovery time after his surgery.
McAlister — a junior who would have been battling for a mid-week and bullpen job — tore his labrum in his shoulder earlier in the week. His expected recovery time is 6-8 months.
Buckner was a second-team All-MVC and Collegiate Baseball Freshman All-American choice last spring.
