The Missouri State men’s soccer team hosted the University of Tampa Spartans last night, Aug. 28, playing a defense-packed 90 minutes. Walking away with another win, the Bears defeated the Spartans 1-0.

Although the contest marked the first ever matchup between the Spartans and the Bears, this game didn’t let fans down. Despite the 60-degree weather, fans still turned out as the Bears battled through the first 40 minutes of the match with no score from either side.

The Bears finally broke through Tampa's defense as senior forward Daniele Verdirosi was awarded a penalty kick with less than ten minutes remaining in the first half.
